"Pour Out Your Heart To The Father" - Rev. Steven A. Michels

[Isaiah 49:16]; Psalm 62:5-8; 34:1; [Romans 12:2]; Psalm 57:7-9; 59:16, 27; 08:1-6; 143:8, 9; [Psalm 17:8]; Psalm 149:5; 92:1-5; 55:16, 17; 34:17-19; {II Timothy 3:12, 11]; Psalm 28:6, 7; 6:27, 8; II Chronicles 7:14

God encourages each of us to pour out our hearts before Him. Because we are each unique, so will be the blessings bestowed to us by God. Regardless of what is happening in our lives, we can pour out our heart to God. God wants our hearts, voluntarily, in a relationship of love.

We can talk about anything with God. In its simplest form, prayer means talking with God. His ears are always open to what we say, whether we speak audibly or deep within our hearts. Although there may be times when we are not thinking about God, He is always thinking about us. The Word teaches us that we are continually before Him.

Our expectations can always be from God. He is our rock and salvation. We can pour our hearts out before God. Hannah demonstrated this in her prayer to God regarding a child. She put all her feelings into it and was not guarded in any way.

Our prayers should always begin with praise to God, because He deserves it. Prayer should be part of our lifestyle when we are seeking the face of God. It enables us to continue to be transformed. As our hearts are fixed on God, our lives will change.

We should be up early each day and focus on God before the negatives begin. We are His beloved, the apple of His eye, chosen before the foundation of the world. God will help us even to keep from being distracted, so we can hear His voice speak of what is really important —things that comfort and bless us. God’s Word reminds us of His loving-kindness. As we focus on these things with our whole attention, we can hear His voice when He speaks with us.

The morning is a good time to pour out our hearts before God. So is the rest of the day. The Psalmist wrote that he would call upon the Lord and the Lord would save him. He continued by writing evening and morning and at noon would he pray and God will hear his voice.

God honors the faith and prayers of the minority as He has throughout history. The faith of a few can turn the tides of history. We are the salt of the earth, the light of the world. Let us stand against the Adversary, resist the devil so he will flee from us and draw nigh unto God.

We are special to God. He is our salvation and glory, the rock of our strength, and our refuge. We can safely trust in Him and pour out our heart before Him.
