"With Holy Spirit You Are Unique" - Rev. Steven A. Michels

Ephesians 1:3-23; Exodus 35:30-35; Philippians 2:13; Romans 12:4-9; I Corinthians 12:12-14, 25, 26; [Matthew 6:24-34]; II Timothy 2:20, 21; Philippians 4:19

In the wonderful body of Christ with its vast variety of members, there is something for everyone and everyone is important. No one is disposable! At times, we get this concept backwards and extend the Word only to those of the world and deny a brother or sister in Christ the same considerations. We might tend to treat Christians who are having problems with punishment, rather than loving them by speaking the Word to them. We all go through trials and temptations. At those times, we need the encouragement of others. Because of the spirit of God in our lives, we can give that encouragement to others also.

When we think of ministry, many aspiring to do the things of God think mostly about being missionaries or teachers. The truth is, only a small number of people carry out the priestly functions within the Body of Christ. Those who are married, have children and work hard to support them are doing a vital work of the ministry. From a Biblical perspective, a man who takes good care of his wife and children is ministering before the Lord. God gave us His Word so we can understand right living. As we operate the spirit of God, He can help us to be better at everything we do because He can teach us anything we need to know.

There should be more entrepreneurs in the Body of Christ, because God knows everything and can teach His people right down to the smallest details. Joseph, for example, did not start out to be the second in Egypt only unto Pharaoh. God taught him what he needed to know when he needed to know it. In the Church, there is business to take care of. This requires Godly wisdom just as Joseph received.

God gives us the spirit of wisdom and revelation. He reveals things to us through the spirit. This revealing is accompanied by wisdom so we know what to do with what God gives us. We matter to God. We are His inheritance.

The records of the building of the tabernacle teach us that God gave the spirit of wisdom to the craftsman who were working with the materials. That same spirit of wisdom is available to us today to achieve our work. God can teach us how to do things we do not know how to do.

Romans 12 and I Corinthians 12 teach the body of Christ has many members. Each of the members is important. God helps us to perform the tasks He has called us to do. No member of the body is dispensable. As we all perform the functions God has given us to do, the Body of Christ is built up and edified. Whatever we are doing, God promises to work in us to will and to do of His good pleasure. As we respond to His call, He will supply all our need according to His riches in glory!
