We have good news and the good news keeps getting better. The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the central theme of true Christianity. God raised him from the dead, he ascended into heaven, was seated on God’s right hand and sent forth the holy spirit on the day of Pentecost. From that day forward, it was available for us to believe that Jesus Christ is Lord and God raised him from the dead, and thereby be saved. None of us were ever good enough to be made God’s children and given an inheritance that is kept by the power of God. This is a precious gift through Jesus Christ’s precious blood, which was sinless.
The three greatest words to a Christian’s ear are, “He Is Risen!” God was faithful to raise His Son, Jesus Christ, from the dead, and He will be no less faithful to raise us on the last day. Romans 6 says when Christ was raised from the dead, death no longer had dominion over him. Jesus said the same about those who would believe on him. At some time in the future, we also will be made alive, and death will no longer have dominion over us.
If God did not raise Jesus from the dead and he were not alive today, we would not be saved. I Corinthians 15 says if this were so we would be of all men most miserable. The resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead is what guarantees our resurrection unto eternal life.
We have a living hope. Jesus Christ is the firstborn among many brethren, the first fruits of them that slept. Because he lives, we shall live also. He Is Risen!
We know that God Who raised up Jesus will raise us up also. When the fullness of time comes, He will raise us from the dead.
