We have vast blessings through Jesus Christ’s precious blood. God’s plan was to have peace with Him through the blood of Christ. It is through his blood that we are reconciled and no longer at enmity with God. Jesus Christ was the full payment for us. We are justified by Christ because he had perfect blood.
Our redemption is not based on good works, ethnicity or background but upon the precious blood of Jesus Christ.
In Exodus 12, we read where the children of Israel were told to kill a lamb for the Passover which was to be of the first year, perfect, innocent and pure. The blood of this sacrificed lamb was to be brushed on the lintel and two side posts in every house so when the destroyer saw it, he would pass over that house without anyone being harmed. Why a blood sacrifice?
In Genesis 3:3, we read of how man sinned, causing separation between him and God. God made them coats of skins of animals thereby setting up the blood sacrifice. Leviticus 17:11 declares the life of the flesh is in the blood and it is that blood that makes atonement for the soul. Without the shedding of blood, there is no remission of sins.
Jesus Christ was not a literal lamb, but was one from among men. He was a man as everyone else was but his blood was pure. Jesus was the perfect sacrifice. His blood was shed so we can live a holy life. Yet what happens when we sin after we are born again? I John declares that Jesus Christ is our advocate. When we confess our sins, God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. It is the blood of Jesus Christ that does the cleansing.
We can be joyful and confident, knowing that through the blood of Jesus Christ, we have it all!
