"He Remains A Faithful God"- Rev. Steven A. Michels

Psalm 89:1-615; Psalm 37:25, 1-3; 33:1-22; 112:1-10; 36:1-12, [Jeremiah 2:13]; Psalm 112:1-7; Proverbs 22:4; Psalm 50:10; [Haggai 2:8]; Psalm 35:27; [III John 2]: Psalm 34:8-10; Proverbs 8:1-36

Regardless of situations, God is faithful to His Word and to those He fathers. We can put our trust in Him wholeheartedly. This is developed with habit patterns of prayer, study, reverencing God, meditating on the things of God, having our conscience purified with truth, trusting daily and humbling ourselves to look to Him for our all in all. If we have not developed these habit patterns of trusting in God in good times, it will be challenging to do so in times of crisis.

Psalm 89 speaks of the mercies and faithfulness of God. Who can be compared to God? He is worthy of great respect and awe. We can protect our property with big fences, yet no matter how deep we dig, we could not protect it all. The earth is God’s. It is only ours to steward.

Our pursuit should be to walk in the light of His countenance. We want to be in His presence, seeking His face. We can talk to God about any situation and He will listen. God is no less faithful in times of famine than in times of plenty. David speaks in Psalm 37:25 of how he had been young and now was old but he had never seen the righteous forsaken nor God’s seed begging bread.

It is time now to expose ourselves to the light of God’s Word in the midst of a dark nation. God will never forsake us. Our part is to trust in Him and do good. We are to seek His face and operate principles like a budget. Are we honoring God with our first fruits? Are we stewarding carefully what He has given us? Can we decrease our expenses to increase our standard of living?

God knows what is happening and what is yet to come. We are to keep our hearts fixed on Him. We will be blessed in God’s ways as we trust in Him. Man’s ways are like broken cisterns that can hold no water.

We must use the edge God has given us which is spirit. As we keep pressing in to Him in prayer and asking His help and advice, He will tell us what we need to know. The counsel of the Lord is given through His written Word and by spirit.

Proverbs 22:4 says "By humility and the fear of the Lord are riches, and honor, and life." Humility is a total emptying of self and dependence upon God. Fear is reverential awe. By having this attitude towards God, we can receive riches, honor and life. God’s abundance is great. Psalm 50:10 says He has the cattle upon a thousand hills. Haggai 2:8 says the silver and gold are His. Psalm 35:27 says that God has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant. III John 2 says He desires His children to prosper and be in health.

God takes care of His people. We are to steward what we have, live within our means and live a righteous life. God knows each of our soul lives. He is a unique God for unique people. Now is the time to press into Him.
