The Word of God assures us we have eternal life through Jesus Christ. The spirit God gives to His children bears witness of this reality. God Himself guarantees the promise of eternal life by His Word, which is true, righteous, faithful and pure. There is nothing greater than when God gives His Word. He is not a man that He should lie! Men give their word, yet in our society, people sign legal documents with their signature as their guarantee, not their word.

Hebrews 6 speaks of how it is impossible for God to lie. It goes on to speak of the hope that is set before us. God swears by an oath which is His Word. His Word assures us we have eternal life. We also have a witness of that in the spirit God gives each one of His children.

All religions of the world teach the “Golden Rule.” But we only find Jesus Christ in the Bible. God’s Word declares “he that has the Son of God has life, and he that has not the Son has not life.” It does not matter how disciplined a person is or how well they live by the “Golden Rule,” because that does not guarantee eternal life.

Being born of God takes God fathering the person. It takes seed, which is spirit. One receives the seed by faith in the Lord Jesus and believing in the heart that God raised him from the dead (Romans 10:9 and 10).

We are guaranteed salvation right now by God’s own Word! He is our Father. Jesus Christ is our savior, redeemer, Passover Lamb and is making intercession for the saints. He will never turn his back on us.

The gift of holy spirit is our token, down payment, proof, guarantee that when Christ returns, God will make us alive in the same way He raised Jesus Christ from the dead. The spirit gives testimony and bears witness. It is our tangible proof in the senses realm that we are children of God.

We only know in part right now and have this treasure in earthen vessels. There is a time coming when the fullness of what we have in Christ will be a reality. All of creation waits for that full evidencing of the sons of God.

We are God’s children, both now and forever. Nothing can separate us from that love. He guarantees it with His Word. He underscores it with His reputation as THE God, THE Creator Who never has, never does and never will lie.
