Psalm 107:20; Acts 10:38; Romans 10:9; Revelation 21:4; Romans 10:17; John 10:10; Acts 10:34-38; Hebrews 2:14, 15; Matthew 4:23, 24; 8:1-3; Luke 6:17-19; 8:26-36; Matthew 20:29-34; Mark 8:22-25; Luke 18:41-43; John 9:1-7; Luke 8:1, 2; Mark 16:1-10; I Timothy 1:12-16 It is Gods will to heal and deliver. In Genesis 2, we see that God formed our bodies from the dust of the earth. Those bodies were designed with properties that allow self-healing, making it plain that Gods will is for us to be healthy. In the medical field today are tremendous remedies available to expedite the healing process. God is the source of that knowledge, of good and helpful inventions, medicines and procedures. Even in the healing arts field, we see Gods goodness. The Word of God itself is healing. The most vivid illustration of Gods desire to heal and deliver us can be seen in the life of His Son, Jesus Christ. Acts 10:38 speaks of how Jesus "went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him." Without question, the greatest deliverance God provides is spiritual. The miracle of all miracles is the new birth. A person can be dead in trespasses and sins, without God and without hope, yet in a moment of time, can be saved and receive eternal life. God provides healing in the new birth. Whether spiritual, physical or mental, all healing is a gift. We could never do enough to deserve it, bur rather are to walk humbly by faith, expecting to receive from a loving God Who delivers to the uttermost. Throughout the gospels, we read the accounts of Jesus Christ who healed people of their sicknesses, unclean spirits, etc. There are several accounts of Jesus healing blind people. Every situation and person was different, yet Gods deliverance of each of them came about. The end result was the God got the glory. Human tendency is to live by merit, but healing and salvation are gifts that cannot be earned. We all need deliverance in our lives. Certainly the new birth provides great spiritual deliverance. But afterwards we, and others, will need physical and mental deliverance also. God will call upon us time and again to minister His healing wholeness. We must not be afraid to act upon His calling. Whatever is needed, be it healing or deliverance spiritually, bodily or mentally Gods will is to supply it. Let us open our hands and hearts to receive from Him!
