"A Good Change"- Rev. Steve Michels

Psalm 33:12; Deuteronomy 6:4-12; 30:19, 20; Psalm 107:20; II Chronicles 7:14; Ezekiel 22:30; Psalm 139:23, 234; 119:105; 133; Acts 4:24-31

In recent days, we have witnessed both the terrible evils and the admiral goodness which man is capable. We have witnessed love so great that it transcended into acts of bravery to protect the innocent. We have seen hatred so great it was translated into acts of cowardice—the murder of innocent people. It is a time to pray.

"Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord." Often in tragedy, men pray to God, but soon forget and return to their old ways. This is the nature of man. God gave us freedom of will because only in that atmosphere can one truly love. Because we have free will, we are also free to turn away from God and His blessings. God has warned in His Word not to forget Him. Our choices should be the right ones according to His Word, because what we reap we will sow. Psalm 107:20 says God sent His word and healed them and delivered them from their destructions.

In our nation we find phrases such as "In God we trust" and "One nation under God." This country was founded upon God and His Word. A nation is made up of people. How many are listening for God’s call? We should be asking, "Lord, what can I do?"
Sometimes we are unaware of the dark places in our heart. We must ask God to search our hearts and lead us in the way everlasting. We can pray that God order our steps in His Word and remove any iniquity from us. That allows us to be free in our fellowship with God and also be free to proclaim the message of salvation. We can help others to move forward into the truth of God, His salvation and His holy Word.
