"Members In Particular"- Rev. Sixto Aponte

Ephesians 4:1; II Timothy 1:8]; Romans 1:1-7; 8:30; Ephesians 4:3; I Corinthians 12:12-30; I Corinthians 4:1, 2; Ephesians 4:4-16; Romans 12:1-16; Acts 6:1-7; Philippians 3:14; [Ephesians 4:16; I Corinthians 12:27]

We all come to the realization in this life that we are either in our "niche" or looking for our "niche." When we are there, we feel like productive members of society. We are happy and at peace. God has set up the body of Christ in a particular way. He knows where all the parts go and He knows your niche! We are members in particular with each having a part! What is your calling?

The body of Christ is made up of many members. We all have different functions but the same goal in mind. It is God Who sets us where He wants us. It would be difficult if we all wanted the same job or position and did not let God place us where He knows we would be of benefit to the church of Christ.

We are all stewards of the body of Christ regardless of whether we are the head of the church or are scrubbing floors and bathrooms. The word "stewards" is literally under rowers and speaks of a Roman ship which could only continue to move as each person did his part. There is one Captain, Jesus Christ, and he guides the ship in the correct direction. If all the under rowers wanted to be captains, then the ship would never leave port.

There is a great deal of work to be done in the ministry. We each have a place and a job to do. We do so with the knowledge that we are pressing toward the mark of our high calling in Christ.

There is one body which is made up of the saints (each of us). There is one captain (Jesus Christ). We are all stewards of what God has given into our hands to oversee. We need each other or the body falls apart. Even those in the teaching or ministering positions need assistance from the rest of the body. We are all under rowers and without us, the body could not move or get to where God wants us to go.

As it states in God’s Word, we are all members in particular. We each have a part to play. God will show us what He would have us to do. We need to let God lead and place us as it would please Him and then act according to His will.
