"God’s Sufficiency" - Rev. Sixto Aponte

Who or what is your sufficiency? Where your sufficiency lies, there lies your heart. Who do you turn to when the chips are down? In looking at God’s Word regarding sufficiency, we allow our hearts to decide where our sufficiency lies.

II Corinthians states our sufficiency is of God, not of men, and we are to abound in every good work. It also speaks in chapter 9 about giving. It is important to have the right attitude when giving. As we remember what God has done for us and how much He provides for us, we can give out of a cheerful or hilarious heart. I Chronicles speaks of Israel giving towards the temple. It says they willingly gave and rejoiced in it. Everything we have is God’s. When we give back, we are merely returning to Him what He has given us. As we give of our increase, we are able to supply the needs of others so they too can give of their increase. Churches now and then do not run on love but on the principle of giving. Has God blessed your life? Are you being a good steward of what He has blessed you with? We can demonstrate our love and thankfulness by giving out of a pure heart and not grudgingly or of necessity.
